Pros: Good Customer Service

"Our service was great the hostess was realy friendly, however the food was poor poor quality, soggy fries, over seasoned pasta and poor quality steak. Its a steak house! atleast that should be good. I gave away my $50 gift certificate, this is how dissapointed I was with it."

"Dinner for 4, $100. Ordered their Outback steak. London broil is not what I call a steak. Only one choice for bread, brown. Complained to corporate about entire meal and got a #25 coupon. Servers: bring the ticket when asking if one wants dessert, waited 15 minutes for server to come back."

Third time won't go back

Cons: Not worth the price.

"The service was slow and the food was nothing special. My husband ordered his meat medium rare and it looked very rare when it arrived. We had waited almost an hour for our meal and it was a slow night mid week."

"Consistently good food and service. Good cuts of meat for a chain, and you always know what to expect."

"I took my 2 kids out as a treat on a Monday night and as expected the restaraunt was fairly empty. The service was still only somewhat fair and we waited a good amount of time - probably 20 minutes for our food to arrive which when brought out was a dissappointment. The portions were small even for kids! My daughter ordered chicken pieces off the kids menu and she barely got 2 'pieces' covered up in french fries. The prices have inceased significantly since we last ate there six months ago. The tables have some kind of eurathain(sp) coating on them which causes them to be very slippery and I almost spilled my water once. At one time my sons soda ended up in his lap and we couldn't locate any server to help clean it up. I finally went to the hostess at the door and asked for some napkins or towels which she was helpful to provide. Our waiter never appeared or was told. He returned only to deposit the ticket for the bill. My husband has never liked Outback which is why I decided to try it once more with our kids while he was out of town. I won't be wasting my money or time again. It just isn't worth it."

"Outback is very expensive and chain restaurant. These two things don't go together. The food were just ok. The service were annoying. The waiters are trained to be too familiar with customers when they either sit at your table or kneel down to be able to be "connected". Not appropriate. Service was slow also.

Not consistent

"I travel the country and have lived near many Outback's. The Medford location just can't seem to get it right, while every other Outback all across the country has been just fine. Each time we've been here, it's either the service or the kitchen. Last visit the waitress(who was expecting-bless her heart)was very apologetic for the kitchen who was extremely slow (over an hour to get food once the order was placed) Steak was cold and well done, on a medium order. Salad was withered..the only thing that was good and consistent was the bread. I am a big fan of Outback because when you're traveling, you always know what your going to get. The Medford Outback needs a jumpstart!"

Amazing experience as always

"Haven't been in a couple of years, everything is still as outstanding as before. I think if anyone has a problem with it, they just need to get over their little princess selves."

"Our last visit was less than good. I ordered my steak medium. I stressed I wanted a warm pink middle. It was served well done and very dry. My daughter's steak was barely pink. Their prices have gone up since our last visit. Portion sizes (i.e. house salads) are down. My husband ordered the Aussie style fish and chips. YUK!! Aussie style must mean dry and no flavor. Aussie style uses corn meal for a batter and not beer batter. He was so disappointed with his meal. This visit was a big splurge for us due to the economy (losing hours at work). We were bummed that we chose to eat there. Prior to the loss of work ours we visited there frequently. When they delivered our bloomin' onion it sat in front of the 4 of us for more than 5 minutes while they went to get us appetizer plates. We've had this server about 3 other times in the past. He's never too awful friendly. He seems very detached and hurried. He asked how our food was less than a minute after someone else had delivered it to our table. I hadn't yet cut into my steak to see it well done and dry. We didn't see him again until our meal was over. I had read the book Waiter Rant a couple of weeks before this most recent visit. It made me fearful of saying or doing anything that would make our server/the staff mad! We won't be eating out for awhile and certainly not at Outback."

Outback

Pros: Good place to meet for drinks and snacks after work.

Cons: The Jiffy Lube of steak houses.

"In the past, we enjoyed the atmosphere and energy more than the food. The food had a jiffy lube feel to it but was edible. We loved the salads and the greasy onion rings."

Used to be our favorite

Cons: Increased prices, food quality slipped.

"We used to enjoy going to Outback and went there often. Once they increased their prices, the quality of the food also went south. I wouldn't mind paying a little more if they kept the quality high, but they haven't. As a result, my husband and I haven't gone been there for months. We might give them another try one of these days, but if the quality hasn't improved, we won't give them a third try."

"My family and I had dinner on Dec 23rd and the waiter was great He was very friendly and personable. The food was great esp. the sweet potato and the steak cooked to our choice. There was no waiting. We will go back again.

"Went in for a special occasion, waiter dissapeared after he took our drink order, then showed up later with wrong drinks, salad plates were never removed from table, food was served by another waiter///ours was too busy with the 1 other table he had....must have been his first day as a waiter and was over whelmed with drink orders, food was cold and had no seasoning..tasted like cardboard, never got a drink refill..drank cola and iced tea, waiter...again...gone missing and everyone else just walked by and ignored our requests, called manager next morning and he told us he would send us a gift card to come back in...never saw it, went in and asked for him as we were asked to ask for him if we ever returned, asked for him on next visit to give it another try, he refused to talk to us..we left.

Very Disappointed

"My boyfriend and I were very disappointed after our last visit to Outback. It took forever for the waitress to take our order, and when we finally did receive our food, our order was wrong. My hamburger (which I ordered medium-well) was not medium-well at all, but was more like medium-rare (pink all the way through). When I told another waiter (our waitress disappeared) about my food, he said that he would fix it for us. When my order came out the second time, it was worse than before. The manager argued with us that my hamburger was being cooked medium-well, then tried to have me order something else when I asked her to take my food off of the check. We also felt like we were being ignored by our waitress because she was too busy with another party.

"Great food and friendly attentive staff. Never have been disappointed. We think this is one of the top steak resturants in the area. Can't beat the $10 Outback Special."
